What happened

Brittany's derby stayed tight for more than an hour at the Moustoir: no score at half-time and none until the 69th minute, when Ajorque — the man Sports Mole's match guide lists as Brest's top scorer this season — broke the deadlock.

Lorient chased the game from there, but the second goal was Brest's too: Versini set up Edjouma in the second minute of stoppage time, and the derby's points travelled back to Brest.

Both sides, in their own words

Both sides heard. Neither believed for free. Publishing a side's version is not endorsing it — the claim checks below are where verdicts live.

Side A · Stade Brestois

  • A derby won the patient way: level for 69 minutes away from home, then Ajorque and Edjouma struck and the points went back up the coast.
  • Brest's top scorer delivered the opener — Ajorque's finish is what derbies are decided by.

Side B · FC Lorient

  • Lorient held the derby at 0–0 past the hour in front of their own fans and were still in it until stoppage time.
  • A home derby defeat hurts, but the margin was one late goal until the 92nd minute.
