What happened

The game was settled before it had time to settle: Batrakov struck in the 12th minute, then again three minutes later after Sánchez sent him through, and Stuttgart spent the remaining 75 minutes chasing a game that was already gone.

Stuttgart did push late on — a goal was ruled out for offside and Çakır made crucial saves against Führich and Undav — but the equaliser never came, and Galatasaray saw out a 2–0 win that keeps their winning run going in Europe.

Both sides, in their own words

Both sides heard. Neither believed for free. Publishing a side's version is not endorsing it — the claim checks below are where verdicts live.

Side A · Galatasaray

  • Two goals in three minutes, and the game was done before the quarter-hour: Batrakov's brace turned a Champions League night into a procession.
  • Back-to-back Champions League wins, and into the league phase's top 24 — the Istanbul crowd had a night to enjoy.

Side B · VfB Stuttgart

  • Stuttgart kept pushing after the break and thought they had a way back late on, only for a goal to be ruled out for offside.
  • Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır was forced into crucial saves against Chris Führich and Deniz Undav in the closing stages — Stuttgart were in the game, just never in the score.
