Michigan 77–66 UConn: Delfosse's career-high 22 ends the Huskies' 39-game regular-season winning streak

No. 5 Michigan beat No. 2 Connecticut 77–66 at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor on Thursday 5 November 2026, in the first-ever matchup of top-five teams in the AP Top 25 at the arena. Te'Yala Delfosse scored a career-high 22 points with nine rebounds and Olivia Olson added 19 as the Wolverines pulled away with a 13–2 run early in the fourth quarter. What happened

The game was the first top-five AP Top 25 matchup ever played at the Crisler Center, and a rematch with a recent edge: last November Michigan nearly upset UConn, erasing a 20-point deficit before falling 72–69 in the Huskies' closest regular-season game of that season. This time Michigan were the home team, the season opener for a side coming off an Elite Eight run and returning its top players.

UConn led after the first quarter, but Michigan won the second 18–8 to lead 35–29 at half-time, with Strong already in deep foul trouble after three first-quarter fouls. UConn rallied in the third, but Delfosse's back-to-back threes early in the fourth opened the decisive run, Strong fouled out, and the Wolverines closed it out. AP notes Michigan did it with four players in double figures while starting point guard Mila Holloway is out indefinitely with an injured left leg.
