What happened

Leipzig had made the Red Bull Arena a fortress this season — five home wins out of five without conceding a goal — and twice in one second half they dragged themselves level, Baku catching Donnarumma at his near post and Nusa finishing three minutes after Fernández's header had restored City's lead. Each time City answered, and the last answer came from the captain: Haaland, quiet for much of the night, arrived at the far post to slide in Anderson's cross with 12 minutes left.
